The Nemaha Natural Resources District is holding an open house in Adams on Tuesday, November 7th from 5:30-7:00 at the community building to provide information to the public about the watershed dam located on the west edge of the town. Identified as Upper Big Nemaha Site 7-A, this dam provides critical flood protection to the town. Annual inspections of the structure by the Nebraska Department of Natural Resources have revealed an ongoing seepage issue. About a year ago the NRD hired Houston Engineering to investigate the source of the seepage. As part of that process, the water was drained from the pool; and now the engineers have provided recommendations for addressing the seepage.

Visitors at the open house will learn more about the specific plans for the structure and timetable for completing the necessary improvements.
